Bradley L. Freilich, MD

Dr. Freilich is a board-certified, fellowship-trained gastroenterologist with a special emphasis on hepatology, liver disease, and weight management. Dr. Freilich leads the Kansas City Research Institute. This clinical research unit is a leading site in liver disease, weight management, and digestive disease states. 

Dr. Freilic leads the new telehealth-based metabolic weight loss program at Kansas City Gastroenterology & Hepatology. The program is a resource for overweight and obese patients, and those with chronic conditions like cardiac diseases, diabetes, fatty liver disease, orthopedic issues and more, who need additional support losing weight. The program focuses on accountability, diet and nutrition, medication management, exercise, emotional health and working to break habits that have resulted in overeating. 

He is a well-known academian and researcher credited with numerous articles, presentations, talks, and research projects on various aspects of liver disease. This distinction ensures that the patients under his care have access to the latest treatments and technologies to treat liver disease. In addition to his practice, Dr. Freilich serves as the medical director of the Liver & Pancreas Institute at Research Medical Center. He is a diplomat of the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and a member of American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the American Gastroenterology Association. 

Dr. Freilich earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Freilich then completed two fellowships at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center, one in gastroenterology and the other in hepatology.

Paresh R. Patel, MD

Paresh R. Patel, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterology specialist at Kansas City Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Dr. Patel has many years of expertise in all areas of clinical gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Patel has specialized skills in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including biopsies of the liver and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP), a diagnostic procedure for diseases of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas. 

Dr. Patel is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology. In addition to patient care, Dr. Patel is involved in the residency teaching program through HCA at Research Medical Center as an instructor for GI and liver diseases, he has also served as a clinical instructor of gastroenterology at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. He earned his medical degree from MS University, Medical College in India. Dr. Patel completed his internal medicine residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, where he also completed his gastroenterology fellowship. 

Dr. Patel is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Janay Kissinger, ANP, BC is a board-certified nurse practitioner with Kansas City Gastroenterology and Hepatology where she has provided patient care for the past 25 years. 

Janay completed training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1997 and has a special interest in treating adult patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
